LEESBURG - Leesburg High School standout Senior Morgan Emerson has signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Georgia Southwestern State University during a signing ceremony Wednesday. Emerson is a pitcher that also plays first and third base for the Lady Jackets. Her career path from Yellow Jacket to Hurricane began when she started playing softball at age 5.

Georgia Southwestern State University is located in Americus Georgia and is a four year unit of the University System of Georgia. The Lady Hurricanes compete in the Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II.
